Starting 16th of November 2026, a new short-term Graduate Work Visa will be available for anyone who:

1. finishes a Level 5 to 7 course
2. studied full-time for at least 24 weeks (except an English, foundation, or bridging qualification)
3. have at least $5,000 (New Zealand dollars) maintenance funds in the bank

This Graduate Work Visa provides for 6 months of open work rights - which means you are free to apply for any work, for any employer, while on this visa.

But this Graduate Work Visa is only for those who study and finishes a level 5 to 7 course in New Zealand.

To give you an idea, the tuition fee for Level 5 courses for international students range from $24,000 to $27,000 (depending on the course that you want to take).

Ngayong araw napo ang umpisa ng bagong pathways to residence under the Skilled Migrant Pathway. Congratulations po sa mga eligible for residence!

Ang application fee po sa Skilled Residence application ay $6,450. Hindi pa po kasama dyan ang posibleng gastos sa medical fees, English tests, at pagkuha ng police clearance certificates.

Pinoys in NZ looking to apply for residence under the Skilled Migrant Category:

Hirap po ba kayo na maabot yung required English test results? Some tips:

1. kung IELTS po ang kukunin ninyo (General or Academic), you need at least 6.5 overall score po

Kung mababa kayo sa isang area, example ay 4 ang grade sa writing, at dahil dito ay hinila nito ang overall score at naging 6 nalang, puwede niyo pong i- retake yung writing lang sa IELTS, para po mag improve yung overall score ninyo.

2. sabi ng iba ay mas madali daw ang english test kapag PTE ang kukunin ninyo, hindi IELTS. You only need an overall score of 58 or more for this PTE exam.

Pero kung mag PTE po kayo, make sure that you get the “PTE Academic” exam.

Wala pong re-take ng portion ng exam sa PTE, unlike sa IELTS po

Alam niyo ba na ang welding ay kasama po sa Green List ng New Zealand? Ang ibig sabihin po ay may pathway po ito sa residence.

I have teamed up with NZ Welding Trades & Services, welding school po ito dito sa Auckland. Nag o offer po sila ng 4-months course for welding, Level 3 and Level 4 courses.

For the level 3 course, kahit wala pong experience sa welding, ang tuition po ay $12,710 New Zealand dollars.

For the level 4 course, kailangan ng merong kaunting experience sa welding, at ang tuition fee po ay $14,710 New Zealand dollars.

Ang dalawang courses po na ito ay parehong 4 months course po, kasama napo sa tuition fee yung safety clothing at insurance.

Other benefits by the school:
1. free airport pick-up po paglapag niyo dito sa New Zealand
2. free one week accommodation malapit sa school, habang kayo po ay naghahanap kung saan kayo titira for the rest of the duration of your course
3. free daily breakfast in school for the entire duration of your course.

The school is connected with at least 10 welding NZ employers. The school can connect the student to these employers after the course, but the school has NO commitment to finding work for the student.

Kung kayo po ay eligible for residence under the skilled employment pathway, kung saan ay tumatanggap na kayo ng at least $29.70 nung nag umpisa kayong magtrabaho dito sa NZ - alam niyo ba na may "4 years look-back window" yung 2 years work experience niyo sa NZ receiving at least 1.1 the median wage?

Ang ibig sabihin lang nito, kung ang visa niyo ay na approve bago mag 24 October 2022, at nakapag umpisa kayo ng work within 5 months from visa approval, you can only apply for your residence under the Skilled Employment pathway within 4 years mula nung nag umpisa kayo sa trabaho.
