Business Investor Visas will be open for applications starting 24 November 2025. The Business Investor Work Visa provides a pathway to residence for migrants who invest in, operate and grow established businesses in New Zealand.

The new investment visa offers two options:
A $1 million or more investment in an existing business with a 3-year work-to-residence pathway.
A $2 million or more investment in an existing business with a 12-month fast-track to residence pathway.

Businesses need to have been operating for 5 years and employ at least 5 people. Some types of businesses are not eligible for investment under this visa.

Applicants need to meet business experience, English language, health, character and age requirements.

To be eligible for a Business Investor Resident Visa, applicants must be actively involved in running the business, maintain ownership levels and spend enough time in New Zealand. They must also employ 5 people and create 1 additional job for a New Zealand citizen or resident.

Good news po sa mga NZ carpenters (or anyone working on a skill level 1-3 role) na walang pathway ngayon sa residence. You might have a pathway next year, depending on your background. May bagong Skilled Migrant Category requiring at least 5 years of relevant work experience, and at least 2 years of NZ work experience, plus meeting the required wage threshold. Antayin po natin ang mga detalye sa mga susunod na buwan. These changes will be made effective in the middle of next year.
