In late 2026:

A new 6-month Short-term Graduate Work Visa will be introduced for eligible NZQCF Level 5-7 graduates who do not qualify for a Post Study Work Visa. Graduates must have studied full-time for at least 24 weeks in New Zealand. English language, foundation, and bridging qualifications are not included.

Post Study Work Visa eligibility will be extended to New Zealand graduate diploma holders who also hold a bachelor’s degree (including bachelor’s degrees outside New Zealand). The work visa may be granted for the duration the student spent studying their graduate diploma in New Zealand, up to a maximum of 1 year.

Rishi came to us after his Job Check was declined, even after one RFI and two PPIs. His previous advisers hadn’t clearly justified why a Store Manager was genuinely required, and the application had been treated like a paperwork exercise rather than a compliance case. The employer was left frustrated, confused, and at real risk of losing the role altogether.

When ProVisas stepped in at the reconsideration stage, we approached the case strategically, not defensively. We focused on the real question INZ was asking: “Why does this business genuinely require a Store Manager?” Our team highlighted the business structure and operational need, explained the day‑to‑day managerial responsibilities, clarified staff supervision, compliance, and reporting lines, and demonstrated why existing staff could not absorb the role. Every point was addressed directly and commercially.

The result was decisive: the reconsideration was approved in just 2 days, the Job Check decision was overturned, and the employer successfully retained the role. This case now forms part of our 100+ successful reconsiderations, maintaining a 100% success rate as of February 2026.

Inal had been living in Fiji while his parents and brother were in New Zealand on AEWV visas.

As an independent child, his visa options were limited and complex. After two Visitor Visa declines, the emotional strain of prolonged family separation became overwhelming, and uncertainty grew around how to address Immigration New Zealand’s concerns.

Inal’s family approached Provisas for professional immigration guidance. We carefully assessed his situation, identified the most suitable pathway, and prepared a detailed General Visitor Visa application that directly addressed the reasons for the previous declines.

Throughout the process, we responded thoroughly to multiple requests from Immigration New Zealand and ensured all supporting evidence met immigration requirements.

The result? A successfully approved 3-month General Visitor Visa, allowing Inal to travel to New Zealand and reunite with his family, bringing peace of mind after months of uncertainty. Importantly, this approval also created the opportunity and time needed to explore and prepare a longer-term visa pathway for living in New Zealand.

Even after visa declines, the right advice and a well-prepared application can make all the difference. If you’re unsure about your visa options, Provisas is here to help.
