"We Do Justice."

This is what justice looks like.

Recently, a client of LFW grantee The Way to Justice received his official pardon from the Governor of Washington. For people carrying the lasting consequences of a conviction, a pardon can represent recognition, restoration and the opportunity to move forward.

Based in Spokane, The Way to Justice is a community nonprofit legal aid organization working to address barriers facing people who have been negatively impacted by the justice system. Through direct representation, advocacy and policy reform, their work includes helping people vacate convictions, reduce legal financial obligations and restore their rights.

This powerful moment in the photo is also a reminder of why civil legal aid matters. Organizations like The Way to Justice stand alongside people as they navigate complex legal systems, remove barriers and pursue a future no longer defined by their past.

Congratulations to this client and to The Way to Justice for helping make moments like this possible. Learn more about their work at thewaytojustice.com.
