We’re joining in celebrating older Mainers this month! 💙 We’re proud to support seniors and their families throughout our community.
The City Council this week issued a proclamation recognizing May as Older Americans Month. The proclamation says, in part, that Maine "has more than 400,000 people aged 60 and over who contribute skills, talent, wisdom and experience" and that our communities benefit "when people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can participate fully with the highest level of independence."
City Councilor Wayne Mallar is pictured presenting the proclamation to Tabatha Caso, executive director of the Eastern Area Agency on Aging.
For those who may be interested, the EAAA is hosting its Healthy Aging Expo on Thursday, May 14, at the Anah Shrine at 1404 Broadway in Bangor. The event connects local organizations and businesses with adults looking to live healthier, more engaged lives, bringing over 900 attendees to the expo each year.
