Steve Mogul, Bangor Injury and Family Law Attorney

Steve Mogul, Bangor Injury and Family Law Attorney Whether you're injured in a car crash, or facing the upheaval of divorce, I can help. I've been helping people in the state of Maine since 1984.

I love what I do and I’m happy to talk with your about your problems. I’ll treat you with respect and compassion because I know you come to me in times of great stress and anxiety. I’m backed up by my law firm, Gross, Minsky & Mogul, P.A., and the best team of attorneys and support staff any lawyer could ask for. The firm was founded in 1938. I’ve been practicing law since 1984, but I’ve been with

the firm since I was six months old. That’s when my father, Jules Mogul, moved to Bangor to join his brother-in-law, Edward Gross, and his partner, Norman Minsky in the practice of law. And now, everyone here is my family.

“Revenge p**n,” is the publication of sexually explicit photos or videos without the consent of the victim. This is criminal misconduct, but also provides the basis for a civil lawsuit against the perpetrator. On January 16, 2026, after a bench trial in December, I obtained a damages award exceeding a half-million dollars for a young woman who’s ex-boyfriend harassed her and published sexually explicit photographs and videos of her on various websites without her knowledge or consent. In recognition of the seriousness of the offense, the Judge awarded the victim $355,000 in actual compensatory damages and an additional $200,000 in punitive damages.

My client exhibited remarkable courage to pursue this case, knowing how difficult it would be for her to testify regarding these painful and private matters in a courtroom. I share her hope that this Judgment will deter the defendant, and others who might be considering such despicable conduct. Revenge p**n is not uncommon, and due to the nature of the misconduct, many victims do no not pursue legal remedies.

Please note that the results of this case does not reflect the value of any other similar case. Each case depends on the relevant facts and the applicable law.

I am happy to report that I recently completed a 40-hour mediation training course through the University of Maine, Division of Life Long Learning. In addition to this training, I have prior experience acting as a Collaborative Coach and spent six years as an arbitrator for the Maine Board of Bar Overseers Fee Arbitration Commission. And of course, I've been a litigation attorney for more than 40 years. I'm now looking forward to using my experience and training for private mediations and arbitrations. If you have the need, or for more information, please get in touch. I'd love to help.

Wow! It's been a while since I posted. I've had an incredibly busy three months while filling in for the other attorney in our firm who handles family law matters while she was on maternity leave. She's back and I'm starting to get my head above water. No more working until after midnight! At least for now.

I did carve out some time to speak at the Maine Judiciary's annual Child Welfare Conference held at Sunday River Resort in Bethel, Maine. My topic was, "A Collaborative Approach to Child Protective Services -- a Respectful Way to rehabilitate a family in crisis." Here's a link to my article:

Samantha has been with us since 2019, practicing family law. In those few years she's served on the board of the Penobscot County Bar Association, and was just elected its president. She also serves as the District 9 Governor representing Penobscot County on the Maine State Bar Association Board of Governors.

Samantha has been receiving accolades both from her clients (check out her Google Reviews) and from her colleagues outside the firm. I've seen her go head to head with some of our area's most experienced family law attorneys. If you need a family law attorney, you'd be lucky to have her.

Attorney Samantha Baker was recently elected as President of the Penobscot County Bar Association (PCBA). Samantha has served as a board member for several ...

My partner, Ed Gould, and his wife Lynn, manned a table for the firm at the Bangor Humane Society’s Paws on Parade last weekend to celebrate the Parade’s 30th anniversary. The folks at Gross, Minsky & Mogul are tremendous dog lovers and we support our furry friends in multiple ways. On behalf of GM&M, Ed and Lynn gave away doggie poo bag flashlights to the participants and their humans (a very popular item at the parade and handy on those nighttime walks). And to our all the canines out there: who’s a good dog? Who’s a good dog? You’re a good dog. Yes you are. Yes you are!
