FAILURE ISN'T AN OPTION: The "Never Give Up" Mindset 🛠️

What separates a business that makes it from one that folds? According to Andrew and Kelly Chanak of Andrew Ryan Outdoor Design, LLC, it all comes down to a stubborn refusal to quit. In this clip, the duo breaks down the "never give up" attitude that turned their backyard dream into a Pinellas County success story.

They discuss how building a company from the ground up since 2015 meant facing plenty of moments where throwing in the towel would have been the easy way out. But as business partners and spouses, they made a pact to treat every roadblock as a lesson rather than a dead end.

🛑 "Hey, can I see your ID real quick?"

It sounds like a casual request, but it’s actually a psychological trap. Police encounters have levels, and in Florida, you need to know the rules of the game.

Under Florida Statute § 901.151 (Stop-and-Frisk), an officer cannot force you to identify yourself unless they have reasonable suspicion that a crime is happening or about to happen. If they don't have it, their "demand" is legally worthless.

They use casual phrases to trick you into voluntarily handing over your ID—legally turning a forced stop into a "consensual encounter." Don't get tricked into giving up your privacy.

🚨 NEW EPISODE: Building a Backyard Empire with Andrew & Kelly Chanak 🏡🛠️

Monday means a brand-new episode of From Courtroom to Carline is officially live! This week, we’re joined by Andrew and Kelly Chanak, the founders of Andrew Ryan Outdoor Design, LLC.

Back in 2015, Andrew and Kelly took a massive leap of faith, moving to Pinellas County to build a local family business from the ground up. Today, they are one of the go-to teams for outdoor design and fencing in the area—but the journey there took a lot of grit, teamwork, and late nights.

They join us to pull back the curtain on what it’s actually like to run a booming business as a husband-and-wife team, how they manage the chaotic balance of success and raising kids, and why planting deep roots in local groups like Seminole Happenings has been a total game-changer for their growth.

If you’ve ever dreamed of building a business with your significant other—or just love a great local success story—this is one episode you don't want to miss! Stream the full episode now on YouTube or listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts! Link to the episode in the comments 👇

The "Golden Question" that completely flips the script on a police encounter. 🔑

Next time an officer stops you, remember these two phrases to protect your rights:

1️⃣ "Am I being detained or am I free to go?" — This single question unlocks the entire legal encounter.
2️⃣ "Officer, what crime do you suspect me of?" — This forces the cop to state their "reasonable suspicion" out loud on their own body camera.

🚨 The Florida ID Rule: Under Florida’s stop-and-frisk law, if you are lawfully detained, you do have to identify yourself. However, the law generally only requires you to state your name verbally. You do NOT have to fish a physical ID card out of your wallet unless you are driving a car.

If they keep demanding the physical card, use this line: "Officer, I've complied with the requirements of the law by giving you my name."

⚠️ IF THE "SHERIFF" CALLS DEMANDING ZELLE, HANG UP 🚨

A major phone scam is targeting Pinellas County residents right now. Scammers are spoofing real law enforcement numbers and demanding immediate cash via apps to clear fake warrants or fake arrests.
Here is the ultimate defense lawyer rule: THE JUSTICE SYSTEM DOES NOT USE APPS. 🛑

The Sheriff’s Office, the Florida court system, and legitimate bondsmen will never cold-call you demanding Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle.

If you get an alarming call like this, hang up immediately and do not give out any information. Call the official agency or your attorney directly to verify the claim.

Save this post, share it with your family to protect them, and stay safe!

What do you do if a cop demands your physical ID? 🛑

If you're just walking or sitting in your car, memorize this exact script:

1️⃣ Know the law: Tell them a physical ID is only required if you are driving.
2️⃣ Ask the magic question: "Officer, am I free to go?"
3️⃣ If they escalate: Do not physically resist. State clearly: "I do not consent to any searches and I exercise my right to remain silent."

Win the battle in the courtroom, not on the side of the road.

"Can you get my case dismissed?" Part 3: Drug Possession 💊

Wrapping up our series with drug possession charges. Just like DUIs, getting these dropped usually depends heavily on legal technicalities.
Here is what you need to know:

🔍 The Evidence Review: We comb through all the discovery and evidence to find any legal issues or loopholes we can argue.

🛑 Motion to Suppress: Your best shot at a dismissal is proving the police made a mistake or violated your rights during the stop or search.

⚖️ The Power Dynamic: Officers usually know the law well, and ultimately, the prosecutor and judge hold a massive amount of power over these cases.

We always fight for a dismissal, but it’s a tough road.
