**PSA** Three times in the last month we’ve received calls from people who said they’d paid a subscription fee to a nondescript online service for free (other than that fee I guess) legal consultations, and that service provided our phone number to offer those consultations- two in landlord/tenant law and one in criminal defense. We don’t do either of those.

We have no relationship with any paid or subscription based or non-lawyer referral partners. I am not familiar with any reputable lawyers offering consultations for $20. Our consultations (when given) are free.

Be careful when seeking an attorney. It’s an important decision. Do your own research. Contact law firms directly, or reputable referral sources like the Louisville Bar Association. Ask friends who’ve had experiences with attorneys to give you a referral. Check URLs when you click search engine results and ensure you’re where you meant to be.

Stay safe out there. Needing a lawyer is rough enough; please don’t get scammed while you’re at it.

But you can call me whatever you want, long as you call me whenever you need a lawyer.

When you are pulled over by police while driving, you must:

1) Produce your license and proof of insurance,
2) Exit the vehicle if asked.

You do not need to:

🛑 Answer questions about where you’re coming or going.

👎🏻 Consent to searches.

🛑 Submit to field sobriety tests.

👎🏻 Admit to wrongdoing. In fact, you don’t need to say anything.

Remember: Sometimes, protecting your rights is really about protecting your life first. Do not give officers an excuse to use any force against you, because buddy they will take that privilege and run you into a grave with it - and you can’t sue anyone from the grave. We’d really rather you be the plaintiff than your estate do it.

Record, comply, and call a lawyer (me) after the fact. Stay safe out there.

We have moved!

Our new office is located at 600 W Main St, Suite 100 (still in Louisville, of course).

With this move comes a renewed commitment to become active on social media again. I’ve been too busy practicing law and putting large checks in people’s hands. My bad.
