Today, our firm pauses to honor Juneteenth, a powerful milestone in American history. On June 19, 1865—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation—enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom. This day marks the true realization of emancipation across the United States.

Our offices are closed today as we reflect on the meaning of freedom, justice, and equality—not just as legal principles, but as ongoing responsibilities. Juneteenth is both a celebration and a call to action. It reminds us of how far we’ve come—and how far we must go—in pursuing a more equitable society.

Today, Bill Brammell had the incredible honor of arguing a case before the Sixth Circuit—with his 10-year-old daughter in the gallery. Sharing this experience with her was a reminder that the work we do is not only about justice today, but also about inspiring those who will carry it forward tomorrow.

🐾 New Hire Alert! 🐾

Our firm is thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team: Lily, our Mastiff puppy! While she may not have a law degree, Lily brings boundless enthusiasm, loyalty, and the perfect amount of “pawsitivity” to our office.

When she’s not napping on the job, Lily is sure to provide moral support during case prep and remind us all to take a moment to relax and enjoy the little things.
