Stockstill has a penchant for interesting and tough cases: He was the first attorney in the U.S. to persuade the court to admit results from the Abel Assessment for Sexual Interest as evidence, and he also defended a client who had his office raided by the FBI after being framed by his business partner. Stockstill earned a Bachelor of Science in business at Louisiana State University in 1992, and he obtained his Juris Doctor at Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans in 1995. Notably, he also graduated from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, a nonprofit organization that selectively trains exemplary trial lawyers from around the country. He tried his first three criminal defense cases under the direct supervision of law clinic attorneys while he was still a student in law school. Stockstill was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar and is licensed to practice law in both federal and state courts.
