Recently, disgraced former physician Farid (cancer doctor) Fata, asked for early compassionate release. Below find a statement from Brian McKeen, founder and managing partner of McKeen & Associates on this development as well as a video of him and two of clients were victimized by Fata:

"Farid Fata’s renewed request for compassionate release must be viewed in light of the full scope of his conduct. Fata intentionally misdiagnosed healthy patients with cancer, administered toxic chemotherapy and other invasive treatments they did not need, and exploited hundreds of Michigan patients for personal financial gain. His actions caused permanent physical injury, profound emotional trauma, and, for many, a shortened life.

"McKeen & Associates represented victims of Fata’s scheme, standing with families who endured the consequences of drugs, procedures, and fear that were never medically justified. The impact of his actions remains deeply felt across Michigan.

“What Fata did wasn’t a lapse in judgment; it was the deliberate weaponization of medicine against the very people who trusted him. When a physician uses the tools of healing to cause harm, accountability cannot soften with time. Compassion belongs to his victims, not to the man who betrayed them.

"Compassionate release is not appropriate for a physician who orchestrated one of the most egregious abuses of medical authority in modern American history. Justice must remain proportionate to the magnitude of the harm he caused."

Monica Flagg says she hopes Dr. Farid Fata gets a life sentence after he diagnosed and treated her for cancer she did not have.

Could you be billed for a medical debt you don’t actually owe?

A newly filed class-action lawsuit in Michigan alleges that some patients --and even the estates of deceased patients -- were pursued for medical bills after hospitals had already accepted negotiated payments from insurers. The Michigan Consumer Protection Act was designed to protect people from unfair, deceptive and predatory business practices. But for years, court decisions limited the Act’s reach when those practices involved licensed or regulated businesses.
That changed this summer.
In July, the Michigan Supreme Court reversed those decisions, restoring the Michigan Consumer Protection Act to its intended purpose and giving consumers greater protection against deceptive business practices and price gouging.
For victims, this matters. When someone has been deceived, overcharged or otherwise harmed by a business, having meaningful legal protections can make a difference in their ability to seek accountability and recover what they are owed.
