The Iraq Vet told his Vietnam Marine dad his legs were sore after a long hike up the Bitterroot Mountains and trek back to the truck.

Dad looked at him and said:
ā€œSon, I once rucked 12 miles with 70 pounds on my back while getting shot atā€¦and I didnā€™t even have an Apple Watch telling me I ā€˜earnedā€™ a rest day. Suck it up buttercup Letā€™s Go!ā€

Grandpa who served in Korea chuckles and says ā€œThats ok boys in my day it was a full field transport pack with a real E-tool, leggings. And my Garand 8 shot was 5 pounds heavier while we walked up hill both ways in muck in a blizzard!ā€

Today, June 6, 2026 marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.

We remember the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II ā€” the largest amphibious assault in history, when American, British, Canadian, and other Allied forces stormed the beaches of occupied France to begin the liberation of Western Europe.

Among them, we especially honor those fearless American heroes who charged straight into hell through bullets, bloodshed, and crashing waves to defeat tyranny and change the course of history forever.

Their unmatched courage and sacrifice secured freedom for generations to come. We stand in awe of these legends today and every single day. God bless them, their families, and the nation they saved!

The Brave may fall. But they never yielded. Memorial Day is more than the start of Summer, this is a day to Honor our Bravest Americans.

We remember our sons and daughters who gave their lives for our country and our freedoms. Their courage and selflessness secured the liberties we cherish today and in their sacred memory we must continue the fight for Freedom. Security and Prosperity.

Our deepest gratitude to our Gold Star Families. God bless those that made the ultimate sacrifice. We may never repay their sacritice, but we can strive to live in a way worthy of it. Honor. Remember. Encourage.
