H-2B visa Nanny renewal was approved. It was initially approved, based on one-time occurrence, for a period of three yearsβ€”the maximum period allowed for a one-time temporary need. Although the initial approval is granted for a three-year overall span, the visa status must be renewed annually. Each year, the employer must complete the mandatory H-2B recruitment process as required by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to demonstrate that no qualified, willing U.S. workers are available to take the nanny position. Crucially, while annual DOL recruitment is required, the underlying temporary need does not need to be re-proven every year.
