Joe McMahon’s courtroom experience extends well beyond criminal law.

He has played a leading role in major red light camera class action litigation in Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish, representing drivers challenging traffic-camera enforcement programs.

In Jefferson Parish, the litigation resulted in millions of dollars being returned to drivers.

In Orleans Parish, the courts ordered more than $25 million, plus interest, refunded to affected drivers — litigation that has continued over payment of the judgment.
And in East Baton Rouge Parish, Joe represents plaintiffs in an ongoing class action challenging that parish’s red light camera program.

15 MURDER CONVICTIONS.

JOE KNOWS THE COURTROOM. ⚖️

As an Orleans Parish prosecutor, Joe McMahon handled some of the most serious criminal cases that come before a courtroom.

During that time, he secured convictions against 15 murderers.

Eight are serving life sentences in Angola.

These were cases with serious consequences for victims, families and the community — cases that required extensive preparation, knowledge of criminal law and evidence, and experience presenting a case before a judge and jury.

It is another chapter in Joe McMahon’s more than three decades in Louisiana courtrooms.
