Two homes suffer major damage. One homeowner gets paid quickly.
The other waits.
And waits.
And waits.
Why?
Most people assume there's a simple answer.
But the truth is, insurance claims are often influenced by a lot of factors:
✔️ How quickly the claim was reported
✔️ Whether damage was documented properly
✔️ Whether temporary repairs were made
✔️ How well information was communicated
But sometimes there's another factor that people don't talk about enough:
People.
Claims are handled by human beings.
Some adjusters are proactive.
Some are overwhelmed.
Some miss things.
Some simply aren't paying enough attention.
And unfortunately, homeowners often don't realize there's a problem until months have passed.
Here's the important takeaway:
✔️ If your claim feels stuck, don't assume that's normal.
✔️ Don't assume someone is working on it.
✔️ Don't assume the delay will magically fix itself.
✔️ Ask questions.
✔️ Request updates.
✔️ Document everything.
And if you're not getting answers, consider bringing in someone who can help move the process forward.
Because while delays may happen for many reasons...
A claim sitting in limbo is still a problem that needs to be solved.
