Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law Mentor Program reception!

The Mentor Program connects first-year law students with experienced legal professionals who can offer guidance, encouragement and insight throughout their law school journey. These relationships give students an opportunity to learn from attorneys whose experiences and areas of practice align with their own interests and goals.

We’re grateful to the mentors who generously give their time and experience to support the next generation of lawyers, and to our students who came ready to make connections and build relationships.

Shoutout to Regina Upstead Pratel! In collaboration with Joanne Sweeny in the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, they have been awarded $270,110 to create a program for first-generation and low-income aspiring law students. The program will feature mentorship, LSAT preparation, leadership development and legal engagement.

Last week, University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law welcomed the inaugural participants in the First-Generation Pathways Program, a two-year initiative helping first-generation college students prepare for law school.

Through LSAT preparation, law school classroom experiences, academic workshops and mentorship from practicing attorneys, the program helps students build the knowledge, connections and confidence to pursue a legal career.

Congratulations to our Pathways students. We’re excited to have you as part of the Brandeis Law community.

University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law is excited to welcome three new faculty members this fall! Catherine Howard, Alessandro E. Cocco, and Jima Fahnbulleh bring experience spanning criminal defense, financial regulation and public policy, academic success, and legal education.

We’re glad to have them joining the Brandeis Law community and look forward to the expertise and perspectives they’ll bring to our students.
