Few days throughout the year are as exciting as ! …and if we’re being honest, most adults love it as well. 🍫🍬

That said, there are some real dangers that can come along with this evening’s events - not in the form of ghosts and goblins. 😉👹

💡 TIP OF THE WEEK 💡
There are countless resources out there ready to give you advice after you’ve been involved in a car crash, but most of those outlets are focused on the driver involved. 🚘💥

SO… what if you were injured as a passenger?? 😟

If the vehicle you were in was at fault, you can file a claim against the company that covers the driver, or the vehicle you were inured in.

If another vehicle was at fault, you are also entitled to file a claim. You would then file a claim against the negligent driver’s insurance company, rather than the car you were a passenger in.

Lastly, if BOTH vehicles were at fault, you as the injured passenger may actually file claims against BOTH driver’s insurance companies. Your compensation would then come from two different sources, and the amount of each will be determined according to percentages of fault.

The decisions you make in the days and weeks following a crash greatly affect the ability to receive fair compensation. 💰💰

After Brandy’s injury, she had several doctor’s appointments, followed by an imperative back surgery and treatments for months to come. 😔🩻

The most common type of personal injury case in Montana today is motor vehicle accidents — crashes involving cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. 💥🚗

Our rural roads present a series of challenges, such as long driving distances, weather and wildlife. These unique circumstances make crashes much more frequent, and often more severe. 😔😔

▪️In 2023, the state reported 711 large truck accidents, with 27 being fatal, and another 227 causing injuries.

▪️The Billings area experienced the highest number of fatal car accidents for the year, with 25 fatalities.

▪️2.44 million people were injured in motor vehicle accidents across the United States, in 2023.

This week, we were able to give back to the two schools that played a major role during our younger years. 💚🖤

Vince Salminen, Lyndon and Layne Scheveck, each attended Bench Elementary and Castle Rock Middle School together, in the Billings Heights, before moving on to Billings Skyview High School.

Yesterday, we were able to donate a total of 72 backpacks, to assist their growing need for adequate supplies. It us unfortunate, but true, that many students go to school without fundamental learning tools. 🖍📒

It is our hope that this donation helps the Bench and Castle Rock supply closets this new school year. 🙂
