👖 "No white after Labor Day" isn't a law or a science — just old-money snobbery from a century ago. Wear the white pants.

🌭 Americans eat about 7 billion hot dogs between Memorial Day and Labor Day. So no judgment if you have a few this weekend.

🏦 September is Life Insurance Awareness Month — a good time to talk about another asset that's easy to overlook: your IRA.

Inheriting one in Louisiana isn't as simple as inheriting a house or bank account. A few rules that matter:

✔️ Spouses can often roll it into their own IRA
✔️ Most other beneficiaries must withdraw it within 10 years
✔️ Distributions are usually taxed as income

No law talk today — just a few random facts that'll make you go "wait, what?"

🐙 Octopuses have three hearts and blue blood. Two hearts pump blood to the gills, one pumps it to the rest of the body — and their blood is blue because it's copper-based instead of iron-based like ours.

🍯 Honey never spoils. Archaeologists have found 3,000-year-old honey in sealed Egyptian tombs that was still perfectly edible.

🌀 We're in the heart of hurricane season here in Louisiana — and while this year's outlook is calmer than most, "calmer" doesn't mean "skip the prep."

Here's a question we ask every client: if you had to evacuate in the next hour, could you grab your most important documents on the way out the door?
