A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined our free community legal talks on Wills and Estates at Takapuna Library, Leigh Hall and Glenfield Library.

We’re grateful to our wonderful hosts and to every attendee who took the time to learn more about wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and protecting the people and assets that matter most.

If the talk prompted you to prepare or update your will, establish your EPAs or discuss your estate-planning options, the Lawspace team would be pleased to help. Consultations are available online, at our Westgate office or at another suitable location, subject to availability.

Another set of keys, another new chapter.

Congratulations to Arya and her husband, who settled on their property purchase last Friday. It was an absolute pleasure being part of their journey.

Buying a property is exciting, but there are also important decisions, documents and sometimes a few anxious moments along the way.

That’s why choosing the right lawyer matters. Beyond experience and technical advice, choose someone you trust, feel comfortable asking questions, and genuinely connect with. The right professional relationship can make a significant difference to the experience.

Congratulations, to you both on this beautiful new chapter.

Thinking of buying? Talk to us early, ideally before you sign the agreement.

Living together does not necessarily mean that everything automatically becomes jointly owned.

In New Zealand, how property is treated can depend on several factors, including the length and nature of the relationship, how an asset was acquired or used, each partner’s contributions, and any agreements between them.

Understanding your position early can help prevent assumptions from becoming expensive disputes later.

If you are living with a partner, combining finances or planning your future together, clear legal advice can help you protect both your assets and your relationship.

Contact Lawspace to discuss your circumstances.

A good lawyer doesn’t tell the story you want to hear. A good lawyer tells the strongest story the truth allows.

One of the biggest misconceptions about engaging a lawyer is that our role is to “make things fit.”

It isn’t.

At [lawspace], our role is to understand the facts, assess the law, and advocate fearlessly for our clients—always within our professional and ethical obligations.

That means we will:
⚖️Listen without judgment.
⚖️Give honest legal advice, even when it is difficult to hear.
⚖️Build the strongest possible case based on the true facts.
⚖️Challenge decisions where there are legal grounds to do so.
⚖️Seek discretion and every lawful avenue available.

What we will not do is knowingly provide false or misleading information or ask our clients to do the same.

Sometimes clients worry that telling us the whole truth will weaken their case. In reality, the opposite is often true. Knowing the complete picture allows us to identify risks early, address them properly, and develop the best legal strategy available.

The relationship between a lawyer and a client is built on trust. The more open you are with us, the better we can protect your interests.

Our promise is simple:

We will always advocate fearlessly for you. We will never compromise our integrity to do it.

The Law Matters. So Do You.

Some journeys are especially rewarding to witness.

We first met Alvin years ago as he was taking the first steps towards building a future in New Zealand. Since then, it has been a privilege to stand alongside him through many of life’s important milestones.

We celebrate another as he and his family received the keys to his family’s new home.

Home ownership is about so much more than property. It represents years of hard work, careful planning, perseverance, and the confidence to invest in a dream.

Congratulations, Alvin and your family. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this special chapter. We wish you many years of happiness and wonderful memories in your new home.

Whether you’re buying your first home, your next home, or an investment property, our team is here to guide you through the legal process with confidence and care.

For almost six months, we worked quietly behind the scenes, reviewing documents, addressing every concern before they became issues, and making sure the application was as strong as it could possibly be.

Some people wonder why we don’t rush to lodge. The answer is simple: we’d rather spend the time preparing properly than spend months responding to avoidable issues later.

Less than a month after lodging with Immigration New Zealand, this family’s residence visa application was approved.

Preparation is rarely the part people see, but it’s often the reason the outcome speaks for itself.
