I've been to Pittsburgh, PA to fly my Mavic 4 Pro but didn't have an opportunity to take photos and videos downtown until July. I wanted to do similar content of downtown to what I did back when I used my Mini 4 Pro to compare the quality and composition the Mavic 4 offers over the Mini line. Here is a sneak peak of a round of content coming up that showcases the capabilities of the Mavic 4 using Pittsburgh skyscrapers as subjects.

This is a closeup of the UPMC sign on the US Steel tower, the tallest building in the city at 841' tall. UPMC is the building's largest tenant.

Here's a wider view of the same site that was in the previous photo of the new Ritz Carlton in Estero, FL. This photo provides a better view of the rain storm in the background and the surrounding area of the RC Residences complex.

It's very interesting watching the top of the thunderhead morph as its growing and changing. It was hard getting the settings right on this one because it was getting dark fast. Captured Thursday night Fairmont, the same storm that produced all the lightning shown in my previous post.

It took me a couple hours to scour all the footage I had of the storms Thursday night captured with the drone to see if anything was usable from it to showcase all the lightning. It had a ton of cloud to cloud lightning and some cloud to ground bolts too. I extracted the best ones as still photos and make a short video showing them in action. Luckily it was a very slow moving storm so it stayed around to be photographed. I had also used my ground-base camera but didn't get anything useful out of it.

The Ritz Carlton Residences at Estero Bay, FL. Both of these buildings are part of the Ritz Carlton. The one on the right is completed while the one on the left is in progress. And a bonus for this photo is the rain shower visible in the background. It was actually sprinkling where I was flying the drone but it wasn't enough to cause problems.

I’ll be providing aerial photography and videography for the Run for Recovery 5k run/walk tomorrow in Fairmont (originally scheduled for July but postponed due to the wildfire smoke). It will be great weather to run/walk or you can simply donate to the Union Mission without participating.

The Run For Recovery 5K Run & 2K Run/Walk is on Saturday July 18, 2026 to Saturday August 29, 2026. It includes the following events: 5K Run and 2K Walk/Run (1.2) Miles.

My captures of the sunset tonight in Fairmont WV. It was looking perfect tonight. The main photo that looks red had no post-processing applied to it at all.
