Got a felony conviction reduced to a misdemeanor here, after already getting 5 other convictions for this client expunged. All of these cases stemmed from the difficult times she experienced several years ago as she dealt with accepting herself as a transgender woman.

She has made tremendous strides in life and recovery. She now counsels other addicts and helps them get their lives back on track.

Beware of this random, suspicionless stop the violates the rights of innocent citizens. Remember to always invoke your right to remain silent, refuse to answer questions without your lawyer present and refuse all field sobriety tests. If arrested, voluntarily give a blood test.

On April 26, 2024, the Irvine Police Department will conduct a Driving Under the Influence and Driver's License checkpoint in the area of Culver Drive and Walnut Avenue. The checkpoint will be clearly marked and operational from 8:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. We are required to notify the public before a checkpoint is conducted.

This checkpoint is being carried out with the use of grant funding awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Irvine Police Department works every day to reduce the number of people injured and killed by impaired drivers. If you observe a drunk driver, please call 9-1-1.

For 2 years now, the man whose image as a baby appeared on the Nirvana album “Nevermind,” has been pursuing a lawsuit against the band for monetary damages. He just got a significant win on appeal reinstating his suit. It’s just strange that he’s pursuing this now. Seems like a cash grab considering his prior statements.

The band’s attorneys have argued that he has suffered no harm. In their brief, they said:
“Throughout his life, Elden told others—including the press, talk show hosts, and colleagues—that he was the baby on the ‘Nevermind’ album cover. He enjoyed the fame that came with that revelation. He liked to joke to strangers, particularly of the opposite s*x, that his p***s was world-famous. Elden sold autographed copies of the album cover. He re-enacted the same photograph as a teenager and as an adult, in exchange for a fee.”

They quoted him as saying: “It is a weird thing...being part of such a culturally iconic image. But it’s always been a positive thing and opened doors for me.”

Nirvana shouldn’t have so easily escaped a child po*******hy lawsuit as time-barred because republication of the “Nevermind” album cover represented a new offense within the law’s statute of limitations, the Ninth Circuit said.

California police required to state the reason for traffic stops before questioning drivers next year. The only problem with this is, what happens if they don’t? Does any evidence of illegal activity uncovered get thrown out of court?

The law implementing this is AB2773. Nowhere in any of the statutes in the bill does it state any consequences if they don’t.

There are several laws out there already like this that purport to stop police from doing shady things. But since there’s no consequences noted in the statute, the courts are free to do whatever they want if it happens.

Since there’s nothing in the US or California Constitutions prohibiting police from doing this, then suppression of the evidence will not result.

If that’s the case, then what’s the point of the law? We call it, “A wrong without a remedy.” 👎🏼

The law seeks to curb 'pretextual stops,' in which police use a minor infraction as the basis to make a stop and investigate other possible crimes.

Long Beach police schedule DUI checkpoint for Friday, August 18th from 6 pm to 2 am , in the East Division somewhere east of Cherry Avenue. Take an alternate route to avoid this warrantless liberty infringement.

If stopped, invoke your right to remain silent and refuse to answer any questions without an attorney present. Despite what police officers will say, you always have these rights, whether arrested, detained, or just out in public. Do not think you will talk your way out of being arrested.

Do not do any field sobriety tests. Do not think you will impress them with your performance. Do not blow into any portable breath testing device before you are arrested (unless you are under 21).

Once arrested, cooperate and choose to do a blood test. Once released, contact this office immediately. You have only 10 days following your arrest to request a DMV hearing. The failure to do so will result in a drivers license suspension in 30 days.

Stay safe out there and protect your rights! 

The exact location for the checkpoint was not released, but the LBPD said officers would set up from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the city’s East Division, which covers most of the city east of Cherry Avenue.
