Turning 18 brings new freedom—and new legal responsibilities.

Once your child becomes a legal adult, your ability to access medical information, speak with providers or assist with financial matters may become limited without written authorization.

Before college, travel or moving away from home, talk with your young adult about medical directives and financial powers of attorney.
