AMAZON RETURNS: YES, WE STILL ACCEPT THEM

There's a rumor going around LaPlace that Allied Express stopped taking Amazon returns. That's not true. We accept Amazon returns every day, and we're always happy to see you.

Here's what changed. Amazon added RAC Center as a new local drop-off for QR-code returns, and that makes things easier for a lot of people. We're glad RAC Center is helping our neighbors. The two places simply handle different kinds of Amazon returns:

📦 Allied Express: returns with a shipping label. In the Amazon app, choose "UPS Drop-Off, Box & Label Needed." If it says FREE, bring it to us. No printer at home? We'll print your label right here.

📱 RAC Center: QR-code returns with no label.

If Amazon charges $6.99 for the label option, you don't have to pay it to come to us. For that package, the free RAC Center option is the better choice.

Have other packages to send? Bring your Amazon return together with your FedEx, DHL, UPS and USPS shipments and take care of everything in one stop.

We haven't closed anything and we're still printing labels. If someone tells you we no longer take Amazon returns, please know we're right here and glad to help.

Oops! If you stopped by at 9am this morning and found our door locked, we're so sorry! 🙈

Starting today, our Saturday hours are 10am to 3pm. That's right, we're now open until 3pm, not 1pm!

We've moved our UPS and FedEx pickups later too, so everything you drop off today still goes out. It's the perfect chance to catch up on everything you didn't get to this week. Bring your packages, returns and drop-offs!

🎁 THE HOLIDAY BOX THAT ARRIVES CALMLY LEAVES IN OCTOBER

Nobody plans to ship in the third week of December. It just happens: the gift takes longer to find than you thought, and then you are standing in a line with a box under your arm.

A box packed and sent in late October goes out on a quiet counter, with nobody rushing it.

✓ Bring it packed, or bring the things loose and we pack them here
✓ UPS, FedEx, DHL and the Post Office from the same counter
✓ We log it, tape it and hand it over the same day

When we pack a box, we follow the carrier's rules, so the packing is our responsibility if something goes wrong on the way.

Insurance runs $4 for every $100 of coverage, up to $7,500, and it is only available on boxes we pack ourselves. We will not insure a box we did not pack, because we would lose that claim.

Carrier holiday deadlines come out in November. We will post them here when they do, so nobody has to guess.

- Pack items safely for shipping
- Help walk-in customers and find the right service for each one
- Help us grow our printing services: copies, business cards, flyers, banners and signs

We'll teach you everything about shipping. Printing is the part of our business we're growing, so print and design skills matter a lot.

What we're looking for:
- Reliable and on time, every shift
- Experience in a print shop, sign shop or graphic design
- Confident on a computer: Microsoft Word, PDF files, email, design software (Canva, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus)
- Customer service and sales skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to learn fast

🏪 SAME TOWN, SAME COUNTER, SINCE 1987

Store signs around here change every few years. This one has been up since 1987.

For more than thirty years this was the place you came to when something had to get somewhere: a package, a money transfer, a bus ticket. In March 2018 the store moved to 1420 W Airline Hwy, where you find us today.

✓ Amazon and Temu returns and old tapes turned into digital files

What we do at that counter has changed since 1987. The work has not: somebody in town needs a thing to get somewhere, and this is where they bring it.

🕙🕒 NEW SATURDAY HOURS: 10 AM TO 3 PM

You asked, we listened! Starting October 24, we're open Saturdays 10 AM to 3 PM (it used to be 9 to 1).

Hardly anyone comes in at 9 on a Saturday anyway, so go ahead and sleep an extra hour!

And as tradition goes, everybody shows up at the last minute.
By 12:45 there's a huge line, and we couldn't always close at 1.
Now you've got until 3.

🖋️ A NOTARY WORKS IN THIS BUILDING

Getting a document notarized in LaPlace used to mean a drive and a wait. A permanent notary works at 1420 W Airline Hwy, in the same building, so you can walk in while you are here dropping off a package.

Contracts, powers of attorney, car title transfers, real estate papers, medical release forms, school permission slips, affidavits and child ID kits.
