Meet the New Ladies of LTL: Michaela Nicolini ⚖️⬇️
Michaela Nicolini graduated from Charleston School of Law in May 2026, bringing with her nearly a decade of interest and experience in the field of family law. Her passion for family law began when she was around 15 years old, and at 18, she began pursuing summer opportunities with law firms during her undergraduate years to gain firsthand insight into the practice of law.
Before attending law school, Michaela worked for nearly three years as a family law paralegal supporting three attorneys at a South Carolina firm. This experience gave her an early understanding of the complexities of family law and the importance of providing clients with thoughtful, compassionate, and effective support during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
While in law school, Michaela continued to build on that foundation through internships with three different family law firms, gaining exposure to a variety of attorneys, approaches, and practical techniques. These experiences allowed her to develop a well-rounded understanding of family law and see firsthand how careful preparation, strong advocacy, and individualized attention can make a meaningful difference for clients. She also completed an externship with the Charleston County Department of Social Services, where she gained additional experience involving children and families.
Her approach to family law is grounded in compassion, communication, and advocacy. She understands that every family is different and that there is rarely a one-size-fits-all solution. She strives to ensure her clients feel heard, informed, and confident that their concerns are being taken seriously throughout the legal process.
Outside of the office, Michaela enjoys spending time with her two children, Ashton, 9, and Rhett, 4. Their family adventures often include trips to the jump park, pottery painting, and spending time with nearby family.
