After graduating from law school, John began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Office of the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor in Greenville County, South Carolina. As a prosecutor, John handled a wide range of cases, from DUI cases to murder cases. For the majority of his tenure as a prosecutor, John was assigned to the drug unit were he prosecuted all types of drug cases, from possession cases to trafficking cases. John was one of the specific prosecutors assigned to handle clandestine methamphetamine lab cases. In 2007, John left the Solicitor's Office to open his own law practice in Greenville, South Carolina. In his practice, John focuses on representing individuals in criminal cases and in Family Court cases.

If you are convicted of domestic violence in South Carolina, you will lose your right to own or possess a firearm. The length of time that you are prohibited from possessing a firearm depends on what level of domestic violence you are convicted of.

Effective June of 2023, a person who possesses more than 2 grains of Fentanyl is guilty of a felony that carries up to 5 years in prison for a first offense.

My main practice areas are criminal cases and family court cases. As such, I have the opportunity to represent many clients who find themselves accused of a domestic violence charge while at the same time dealing with a contentious divorce case in the family court. Having a domestic violence charge pending during a divorce action creates a very complex situation.
