Today, we remember.
On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed the course of American history. We remember the 2,977 lives lost, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the countless acts of courage and selflessness that emerged in the face of unimaginable circumstances.
We honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger to help others. We also remember those who continued to serve in the days, months, and years that followed, many carrying the lasting effects of that day with them.
Twenty-five years later, the memory of September 11 remains a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity, service, and standing together as a community and as a nation.
Ascension Parish joins communities across the country in honoring those we lost, those who served, and those whose lives were forever changed.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
