Some real numbers just dropped for anyone tracking the property market here.
The Real Estate Information Center released their H1 2026 report, and a few things stood out for our area specifically:
→ Most buyers (63%) are choosing resale/completed properties over new off-plan launches right now — seems like people want to see what they're actually buying rather than gamble on a rendering.
→ Foreign buyer patterns are shifting. Chinese buyer volume is down noticeably this year, while Russian investment jumped a lot, especially here in Chonburi and in Phuket. European buyers (France, UK, Germany) have stayed pretty steady the whole time.
→ There's a real deadline coming: property tax appraisals are set to increase starting January 1, 2027. Anyone who completes a purchase before the end of this year locks in the current, lower valuation.
Not trying to pitch anything here, just thought the data was genuinely interesting for anyone in the group who's bought, is buying, or is just watching the market.
Anyone else been noticing these shifts firsthand — more resale listings, different buyer nationalities at open houses, etc.? Curious what people are seeing on the ground.
