📢 IMPORTANT THAILAND VISA UPDATE
New Visa Exemption & Visa on Arrival Rules Effective 15 September 2026
Thailand will introduce revised Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival (VoA) rules from 15 September 2026.
The key change is that the previous 60-day visa exemption scheme will be cancelled.
From 15 September 2026, entry privileges will depend on each traveller's nationality.
Examples include:
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
🇺🇸 United States
🇦🇺 Australia
🇪🇺 EU Member States
🇮🇱 Israel
🇮🇳 India
🇹🇷 Türkiye
🇯🇵 Japan
🇹🇼 Taiwan
These nationalities are generally included in the 30-day visa exemption scheme for tourism purposes.
Other countries may have different privileges under bilateral agreements. For example:
🇨🇳 China
🇷🇺 Russia
🇰🇷 South Korea
may enter Thailand under applicable bilateral visa exemption arrangements, with different permitted periods of stay.
⚠️ Important:
Visa exemption does not automatically give permission to work, operate a business, or reside in Thailand long-term.
If your purpose is:
✅ Employment
✅ Business
✅ Investment
✅ Retirement
✅ Marriage / Family
✅ Education
✅ Long-Term Stay
you should ensure that you have the correct visa and immigration status.
Foreign nationals who enter Thailand before 15 September 2026 may continue to stay until the expiry date shown on their existing immigration stamp.
