Finland just figured out how to beam electricity through empty air. No cables. No contact points. No physical connection between the power source and the device receiving it. What started as a laboratory trick is now producing transmission range and efficiency numbers that make it an immediate infrastructure conversation. We have spent a century tethering everything we build to a copper wire or a heavy battery. Finland just proved that was never a physical necessity. The implications rewrite every single industry. Imagine buildings with no wiring inside the walls because power arrives exactly like wifi. Imagine electric vehicles charging at highway speeds from street lamps. We are watching the beginning of a wireless grid.

Summer free TTC rides, enjoy the events.

TTC riders heading home from Rogers Stadium concerts this summer will once again get free subway rides after shows.

The TTC and Live Nation Canada have renewed their partnership for the 2026 concert season, allowing fans to ride free from Downsview Park, Sheppard West, or Wilson stations after events. Riders will only need to show their concert ticket to TTC staff to access the complimentary trip home.

More than one million people are expected to attend concerts at Rogers Stadium this summer, with major shows including Bruno Mars, Luke Combs, and Mumford & Sons. The TTC says it’s also increasing service on Lines 1 and 2 during concert nights, while adding extra buses on several routes around the venue to help manage crowds.

Last year, roughly 25,000 concertgoers used TTC service each night during stadium events.

Wow, what a transformation. I worked there at Union Station for TTR from 1978 until 1989. The changes are awesome and great for the city.
