Thinking about applying for spousal sponsorship in Canada?

A marriage certificate alone is usually not enough for a spousal sponsorship application in Canada.

Immigration officers assess whether the relationship is genuine and ongoing, which is why supporting evidence can play a major role in the process.

Many people are also surprised to learn that common-law partners may qualify as well.

Depending on the case, the sponsored person may also qualify for an open work permit during application processing.

Every application is different, and preparation matters.

Express Entry draws are picking up again 🇨🇦

Express Entry is off to a record-breaking start in 2026.

Over 55,000 Invitations to Apply were issued in just the first quarter, the highest ever in a single quarter.

With a strong focus on Canadian Experience Class, French proficiency, and healthcare occupations, it is clear that strategy matters more than ever. For many candidates, French can open doors even without Canadian work experience, with lower CRS cut-offs.

If you are considering applying, this could be a key moment to assess your profile and next steps.

Important update for international students in Canada.

IRCC has removed the separate co-op work permit requirement for many eligible post-secondary international students. This means that, in many cases, students can now complete required co-ops, internships, practicums, and mentorship placements using their study permit, as long as the proper work conditions are listed on it.

This is a helpful change, but not every student is automatically eligible. Program requirements, study permit conditions, school confirmation letters, and student status still matter.

We’ve broken down what this means for students and schools in our latest blog:

French can be a major advantage if you are considering moving to Canada.

Strong French skills may help you gain additional CRS points in Express Entry, qualify for French-language draws, access LMIA-exempt work permits through the Francophone Mobility Program, and explore immigration pathways in Quebec.

For many candidates, French can significantly strengthen their immigration options.

The February 20, 2026 Express Entry draw for healthcare occupations is one of the most important updates we have seen in recent years. IRCC has significantly expanded the list of eligible healthcare and social services occupations.

This creates a real opportunity for internationally trained professionals who previously struggled to compete in general draws. The key question is not whether your occupation qualifies. The real question is whether your CRS score is structured correctly.

In this article, we break down:
• How a healthcare professional under 30 can exceed 467 CRS without French
• How a 42-year-old candidate can recover lost age points through French
• Why proper ECA classification as a professional degree matters
• The full list of healthcare occupations included in the draw

Express Entry today is about strategy, not guesswork. If you are in one of the listed occupations, now is the time to calculate your profile properly.

Over the past several days, our Principal Consultant, Mr. Bassel Zoueiter, received many messages from individuals across the Middle East asking the same question:

“How can I move to Canada?”

In times of uncertainty, it is natural for people to begin looking toward countries that offer stability and opportunity. Canada is often one of the first places that comes to mind.

But when people begin searching for answers during difficult moments, they are also more likely to encounter misinformation, unrealistic promises, and claims that simply do not reflect how Canada’s immigration system actually works.

Immigration is governed by structured programs, eligibility criteria, and legal frameworks. There are real pathways, but there are also many misconceptions about how those pathways operate.

Mr. Zoueiter recently shared a perspective on this topic and why clear, realistic information matters, especially for individuals who may be considering immigration during uncertain times.

Due to ongoing high demand and limited spaces, intake for the Home Care Worker Immigration pilots is paused and will not reopen in March 2026: https://bit.ly/3KRcISh

While we understand that this will be disappointing for prospective applicants and their families, this pause will prevent further inventory growth and support our goal to bring immigration back to sustainable levels.

We will continue to process applications already received. Any future updates will be shared publicly.
