Why Does a Canadian MP Meet With a Terror Group Supporter?

I fled Iran out of fear of persecution and came to Canada believing it was one of the safest and most peaceful countries in the world — not only for me, but for tens of thousands of others seeking freedom and security.

Today, with the growing presence of Islamic Republic supporters and agents in Canada, many of us are once again being forced to live with fear and uncertainty.

Given recent events, many Iranian Canadians are demanding stronger action against the IRGC and greater support for those fighting for freedom in Iran. 400000 took to streets on February 14 of this year urging the government to find expell IRGC members & supprters and regime officials.

Concerns are now growing after MP Salma Zahid was photographed with an individual accused of supporting the Iranian regime and harassing anti-IRGC demonstrators.

In June 2023, the same individual seen in the photo with the MP, Faisal, disrupted an anti-IRGC event that I had organized on Parliament Hill along with his friend, while wearing clothing associated with the IRGC — a listed terrorist organization in Canada — and while chanting slogans praising the IRGC and the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Now, he appears beside the MP again while wearing a T-shirt displaying images of the dead Supreme Leader and his son.

The MP involved must explain why she chose to associate with someone who openly supporting a listed terrorist organization.

Canadians deserve transparency and accountability from elected officials, and many believe she should resign her seat.

This is not acceptable in Canada. There must be zero tolerance for the glorification of terrorism, intimidation of dissidents, or political associations with individuals linked to extremist retoric.

Esther has been found safe, bringing immense relief to her family and the Toronto community.

After nearly two weeks missing, Toronto Police located the 14-year-old on Thursday following an extensive Level One search supported by specialized units, volunteers, first responders, and community members. Hundreds participated in the effort, which also included command posts and a $25,000 reward initiative. Authorities later shared the positive update during a briefing at Earl Bales Park.

Today, I walked into Toronto City Hall and officially filed my nomination papers. I am now an official candidate for Toronto City Council in Willowdale.

I’m running because our communities are being ignored, our streets are becoming less safe, our taxes keep rising, and families feel like they no longer have a voice at City Hall.

I will stand and fight against Olivia Chow’s destructive policies that are hurting hardworking residents and changing our neighborhoods without our consent.

I will fight to:

• Freeze property taxes and defend families already struggling with the cost of living
• Stop the construction of a drug injection homeless shelter at Sheppard & Yonge
• Hire 1,000 more police officers in Toronto to restore safety and law and order (considering the rising hate-motivated and other crimes).

This campaign is about protecting our community, defending our future, and bringing common sense back to City Hall.

Willowdale deserves leadership that listens, fights, and puts residents first.

The fight starts now.

At the Parliament of Canada, I spoke about the grave human rights crisis in Iran and urged Canada to take meaningful action.

Several political prisoners have ties to Canada. Thousands remain imprisoned under torture, more than 10 lawyers are in detention, and many political prisoners are on death row as the Islamic Republic continues its ex*****ons.

At the same time, internet shutdowns are silencing the Iranian people. The international community has a duty to act.

The existence of the Islamic Republic is not just threat to its citizens, but to the international community and civilizations.

ICHR: The European Parliament on Thursday urged the European Union to broaden sanctions against Iranian officials in response to escalating repression, ex*****ons, and the deadliest crackdown on protesters in the country’s modern history.

In a statement, Parliament said it was calling for additional sanctions “while the Iranian people face the largest mass killing of protesters in the country’s history.”

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) strongly condemned Iran’s use of the death penalty as a tool to suppress political dissent and intimidate public mobilization. They called on Iranian authorities to abolish capital punishment and immediately release all political prisoners.

The resolution also denounced the secret ex*****ons of dissidents carried out in March and April, including cases involving minors. Lawmakers urged sanctions targeting officials and institutions allegedly involved in the repression, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and organizations tied to the Supreme Leader.

In addition, MEPs called on EU member states to shut down Iranian diplomatic missions accused of involvement in transnational repression and to help provide Iranians with secure internet access and communication tools amid ongoing internet restrictions and blackouts.

🛑 ICHR: 32 political prisoners were hanged in Iran and hundreds more are at Risk of ex*****on by the Islamic Republic.

37 ex*****ons carried out by the Islamic Republic since the outbreak of the current conflict. In just 75 days, between February 28 and May 13, 2026, at least 32 prisoners were hanged on political charges, while five others were executed on alleged drug- and murder-related offences.

The scale is unprecedented. The pattern is unmistakable. Most of those executed were protesters, political dissidents, or individuals accused of ties to opposition groups. Ten had been arrested during the nationwide protests of January 2026. One was only 18 years old.

Many of the ex*****ons were carried out in secret. Families were not informed. Lawyers were excluded and convictions relied heavily on confessions extracted through torture after trials that offered no meaningful legal defence.

Since February 28 alone, thousands more people have reportedly been detained, with lawyers systematically prevented from taking their cases, making further death sentences increasingly likely.

What is happening in Iran is a systematic campaign of repression that has become impossible to ignore.

The question is whether the world will act before more names are added to this list.
