More good news coming from IRCC 🥳 as of July 4, 2022, the length of stay allowed under a super visa has been increased to 5 years! If your parents or grandparents are entering Canada on a valid super visa after this date, they may be eligible to stay in Canada as visitors for 5 years.

If you entered Canada with a super visa before this date the length of stay granted by the border officer remains the same, so be sure to obey this and not over-stay! If you want to benefit from the longer stay you will need to exit Canada, re-enter, and if still meet the eligibility you may be granted the new 5 year period.

Today IRCC has launched a new pathway for immigration: Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET), a special temporary residence pathway to welcome Ukrainians and their families to Canada.

With CUAET, Ukrainians and their family members can stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to 3 years. They will also be eligible for a free open work permit or study permit, which will allow them to work or study across Canada.

Ukrainians and their family who are already in Canada can also apply to extend their visitor status or work permit for up to 3 years or apply for a new work or study permit. Application fees are waived.

We are implementing urgent processing of travel documents for Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Ukraine who do not have valid passports.

We are prioritizing citizenship grant applications for adoption and permanent and temporary residence applications for people with a primary residence in Ukraine who want to reunite or travel with family, study, work or start a new life in Canada.
