Yesterday, we hosted a powerful panel to mark the launch of Birthmarks: The Cost of Motherhood, our first-of-its-kind report exploring the true impact childbirth has on mothers.

Moderated by Neinstein Partner and Head of Operations, Rose Leto, and featuring Melissa Desmarais, Cheyenne Scarlett and Neinstein partner Sonia Nijjar, the conversation unpacked the lasting physical, mental, and emotional impacts of motherhood, and the societal norms that too often silence women’s experiences and trauma.

Throughout the panel one message rang loud and clear: being and feeling heard matters. These stories shouldn’t be dismissed. They deserve space, recognition, and action.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this conversation. If you couldn’t attend, we encourage you to read the full report at the link in our bio.

Following the recent Los Angeles verdict holding Meta and YouTube liable for social media addiction, Neinstein Partners Sonia Nijjar and Duncan Embury spoke with national media to unpack what this could mean for Canada.

As leaders of the legal team representing Ontario school boards in their case against social media companies, Sonia and Duncan shared how this ruling strengthens the broader argument that these platforms are intentionally designed to be addictive, and that the companies have failed to adequately protect young users.

These outcomes in the United States demonstrate the positive legal momentum in holding these tech giants accountable.
