🚨 Major TRP Policy Update – What Changed in June 2019? 🇨🇦✈️

IRCC overhauled its Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) guidelines, removing the long-standing rule against issuing TRPs for administrative ease. Now, officers must weigh the benefits vs. risks based on Canada’s broader immigration goals.

✅ Strong reason for entry
✅ Purpose aligns with IRPA
⚖️ Risk is manageable

TRPs remain discretionary, but the tone is shifting.

🎓 Canada’s 2025 Student Visa Cap: What You Need to Know 🇨🇦

Canada has announced a 35% reduction in international student visas. This took effect in 2024 — from over 560,000 to around 364,000. This major policy change is designed to address the housing crisis, relieve pressure on public services, and ensure study permit integrity.

If you're an international student planning to study in Canada, this affects you directly. Here's how to stay ahead:
✅ Apply early to avoid missing the study permit quota
✅ Choose in-demand programs (e.g. tech, healthcare, skilled trades)
✅ Research Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs)
✅ Explore PGWP and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) as alternative immigration pathways

🎯 Canada remains one of the best places to study and build your future — but the competition just got tougher.

Many big changes are coming to Canadian immigration. It'll be interesting to see how this one has an impact.

As of March 25, 2025 the following changes apply:

✅ CRS Points for Job Offers Removed – If your Express Entry profile currently includes a qualifying job offer, the additional CRS points will be removed.
✅ Effective Date – While the change takes effect on March 25, 2025, it may take a few days for your CRS score to be updated.
✅ No Impact on Eligibility – You will remain in the Express Entry pool, and no action is required.
✅ Active ITAs Are Not Affected – If you have an active Invitation to Apply (ITA) that has not expired or been declined, you remain eligible for your specific round of invitation.

🔹 The job offer factor will still be part of the following:

- The selection grid for the Federal Skilled Worker Program;
- Eligibility for the Federal Skilled Trades Program; and
- The Provincial Nominee Program, where provinces

You should continue listing job offers in your Express Entry profile to maintain eligibility for various programs.
