Wildeboer Dellelce LLP

Wildeboer Dellelce LLP One of Canada's premier transactional business law firms. Wildeboer Dellelce was founded in 1993 with offices at One First Canadian Place.
(1)

The firm was started by six partners who had the vision of building a standalone corporate finance and tax law firm that would compete with Canada’s much larger, established corporate law firms. In its first week the firm purchased a pool table for its library. While the pool table does not get as much use today as in those early days, it still serves as a symbol of the firm’s identity and culture

. The firm has grown to 100 people with over 60 legal professionals who serve the legal needs of a diverse client base of both public and private businesses. In 2006 the firm moved to Wildeboer Dellelce Place, at the corner of Bay and Richmond Streets in Toronto.

Wildeboer Dellelce is pleased to be featured in an article by Law.com for its growing presence in the sports law sector, as global demand for sports-related legal services continues to accelerate.

Our team continues to advise leading sports organizations on complex, high-value matters, including acting for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) in Rogers Communications Inc.’s $4.7 billion acquisition of Bell Canada’s interest in MLSE, representing Canada Soccer in its renewed partnership with Canadian Soccer Media and Entertainment, and serving as legal counsel to Canada Basketball as its Official Legal Services Partner, providing pro bono support to the organization and select BIPOC-owned businesses within the Canadian basketball community.

To further build our expertise in this growing area, we have also introduced an articling student secondment program providing hands-on experience with leading sports organizations, including the Canadian Olympic Committee, Canada Basketball, Canada Soccer, Hockey Canada, Loft Entertainment and MLSE.

As investment, media rights, and commercialization opportunities reshape the industry, we remain focused on delivering strategic legal advice to clients at the forefront of sport in Canada and beyond.

In recognition of , Wildeboer Dellelce’s Culture Committee hosted a thoughtful lunch and learn: Understanding Mental Health at Work: How to Show Up for Ourselves and Others.

We were pleased to welcome back Kara Hardin of The Practice Lab, a mental health educator, registered psychotherapist and former corporate lawyer. She spoke about the realities of mental health and illness in the legal profession and shared practical strategies for protecting our own well-being, particularly during periods of high demand, along with a framework for how to engage with and support others.

As part of our Be Well WD commitment, we continue to prioritize resources, awareness and dialogue to support our team.
