Congratulations to the lawyers named among Canadian Lawyer’s 2026 Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers.

Now in its 17th year, the list recognizes legal professionals whose leadership and contributions are shaping the profession across business, advocacy, human rights, public service, technology and beyond.

This year, Walker Law Managing Partner Tanya Walker was honoured to serve on the editorial board judging panel. 🏈 When your neighbours across the hall are NFL Canada, starting a Walker Law Fantasy Football League seems only fitting!

To kick off our first Walker Law Fantasy Football League, we held an NFL Dress Down Day, with members of our team sporting NFL gear and representing their favourite teams.

And with NFL Canada located directly across the hall from Walker Law, we couldn’t resist stepping over for a group photo to mark the occasion.

At Walker Law, we take our work seriously, but we also believe that a strong workplace culture is built by creating opportunities for our team to connect, have fun and share experiences beyond our day-to-day work.

A big thank you to our neighbours at NFL Canada for welcoming us into their space and helping us get into the football spirit. Our teams are drafted, our NFL gear has made its office debut, and we’re looking forward to following the season together. 🏈

Yesterday was a special day for the Walker Law team.
Annika Dela Torre, Daniel Stojkovic, Carole Redmond and Tanya Walker had the privilege of delivering the donations collected through Walker Law’s pantry drive in support of StepStones for Youth.

Standing behind us in this photograph are the many food, pantry and essential items generously donated by members of our Walker Law team and community. Seeing everything gathered together in one place was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together around a shared purpose.

We were joined by Tanya and Daniel’s son, Alexandar. Tooba Dawood, Corporate Partnerships & Events Coordinator at StepStones for Youth, who welcomed us and took us on a tour of the facility. The visit gave us an even greater appreciation for the important work StepStones does every day.

StepStones for Youth supports young people involved in and transitioning from the child welfare and foster care systems. Its programs help youth secure stable housing, pursue their education and employment goals, access mental health supports and, importantly, build lasting relationships and support networks.

Our pantry drive was especially meaningful after seeing firsthand how donated food and essential items can form part of the practical support available to young people. Every item on that table represents more than a donation. It represents care, dignity, encouragement and a little more stability as young people begin the new school year.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Walker Law and in our community who contributed. Thank you for helping us fill that table and for supporting an organization doing such meaningful work for youth in our community.

20 years as a lawyer. 16 years as the founder of Walker Law. Two photographs. One journey.

From the early days of Walker Law in 2010 to where we are today, these photos represent 16 years of building the firm, advocacy, challenges, growth, lessons, and victories, and, above all, the privilege of representing and helping others.

This milestone would not have been possible without the trust of our clients, the dedication of our team, and the support of our colleagues, families, and community along the way.

As Walker Law celebrates its 16th anniversary, I am grateful for how far we have come and look forward to continuing to advocate for our clients with the same commitment and determination that have guided us from the beginning.

Did an employer have “just cause” to terminate an employee for “topping up” employee timesheets? Did this constitute “time theft” and “fraud”? What constitutes “bad faith” in the actions of an employer when firing an employee? The Superior Court addresses these questions in Wilsher v. Olympic Wholesale Co Ltd, a case where an employee sued his former employer of 17 years for wrongful termination and was awarded 33 months’ notice.
