However this does not automatically mean the schedule should be changed, or that the child can simply decide whether parenting time happens.

In Ontario, parenting arrangements are determined based on the best interests of the child. A child’s views and preferences may be considered, depending on factors such as their age and maturity, but there is no automatic rule that a child gets to choose.

There may be many reasons behind a child’s reluctance, and it’s important to understand what is happening before making significant changes to an existing parenting arrangement.
