Join us in celebrating Mark Vince, who is officially a permanent resident of Canada!
Mark was recently approved under the Spousal Sponsorship program, and he is finally reunited with his wife, Chelsea Marie, to begin their new chapter together. The entire team at Northeast Central Immigration Inc. sends our warmest wishes to Mark and Chelsea as they build their life and future here.
If you are currently waiting to bring your spouse or partner to Canada, you do not have to navigate the complex immigration paperwork alone. Reach out to Northeast Central Immigration Inc. today, and letโs discuss how we can help bring your family together.
Planning Your Move: Basic Requirements for Spousal Sponsorship
The Spousal Sponsorship program is designed to keep families together. If you want to sponsor your partner to live permanently in Canada, here is a quick look at the basic criteria you both need to meet:
Requirements for the Sponsor (The person already in Canada):
โขAge: You must be 18 years of age or older.
โขStatus: You must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident living inside Canada, or registered under the Canadian Indian Act.
โขFinancial Commitment: You must sign a 3-year financial agreement (called an undertaking), promising to handle your partnerโs basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing.
โขSocial Assistance: You cannot be receiving government income support or social assistance, unless it is strictly for a disability.
Requirements for the Sponsored Spouse & Relationship:
โขAge: The spouse being sponsored must be at least 18 years old.
โขAuthenticity: You must prove that your marriage is legally valid and genuine. This involves providing official marriage documents alongside evidence of your shared life, such as photos, communication logs, and financial records.
