Family Day is a great break from the February drudgery. A short road trip is often our activity. Whether it be a visit to a winery in Beamsville or browsing the shops (and eating) in Niagara-on-the-Lake or one of our usual haunts, it is a welcome and fun day.

With the snowy weather this weekend, it looks like our Family Day road adventure in Ontario this year will be postponed.

If you will be driving please ensure that your washer fluid tank is full and check your tires. Stay safe and have a great Family Day and long weekend.

One thing to take note of as the season changes from Summer to Fall is the accumulation of leaves and other debris on our streets. This can be hazardous to both drivers and pedestrians, especially when the leaves are wet. Drivers, please be conscious of this and bear in mind that you need added brake time and to reduce speed when taking corners.

Our family loves pets. From hamsters, guinea pigs, a mink, aquariums, dogs, cats... we've had them all.

Presently, we have two dogs (an incessant barker and a docile cockapoo) and a cat. I take care of and prefer the cat.

The cat rules the roost. As cat owners know, having a cat is the closest thing to having a wild animal in your house. They are self sufficient, haughty but also loving and playful. Perfect for professionals who need some TLC after work!

Take care of your kitten, and if you are looking to purchase, please consider buying from a cat shelter, as they are well socialized and overflowing.
