: Kerry Doyle was quoted in Maine Public’s article, “Former housemate of Biddeford ICE shooting victim tries to rebuild, while struggling with loss,” by Ari Snider.

Doyle represents Jhonathan Ramirez, whose friend and housemate, Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, was fatally shot by an ICE agent in July.

Drawing on her experience representing others detained in Maine, Doyle questioned whether ICE had a specific enforcement target during the encounter and raised concerns about racial profiling.

The article also highlights her work representing Ramirez in his asylum case and helping him pursue a visa for victims of violent crime.

: Last week, we hosted two events with the France Canada Chamber of Commerce, bringing together students, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to explore international careers, innovation, and the future of cybersecurity.

At the MENSA Formation student event, Stephen Green and Valerie Kleinman shared insights on Canadian immigration pathways, work permits, Francophone mobility, and career opportunities for students considering an international future.

We were also pleased to host France Meets Canada: The Future of Cybersecurity, where leaders from the French and Canadian tech sectors came together to discuss emerging trends, innovation, and the evolving cybersecurity landscape. We were especially proud to have Stephen Green serve as a judge for the Les Innovateurs competition, which showcased innovative French cybersecurity companies looking to expand into the Canadian market.

Thank you to the France Canada Chamber of Commerce, Business France North America, and all the speakers and attendees who made these events a success. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives that foster cross-border collaboration, innovation, and global mobility.

: Dan Berger was quoted in Forbes’ article, “DHS Immigration Rule Proposes $100,000 In Practical Training Fees,” by Stuart Anderson.

The article examines a Department of Homeland Security proposal that would require universities to pay $70,000 for an international student to participate in Optional Practical Training (OPT) and an additional $30,000 for STEM OPT, with the option to pass those costs on to students or employers.

Berger highlighted the potential impact on international students, stating, “The new OPT fees would make OPT unobtainable for the vast majority of students.”
