📢 Job Opportunity | Director, Legal Affairs

The Canadian Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA) is pleased to share an exciting opportunity with the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) for a Director, Legal Affairs and Submissions on Enforcement Matters (SEM).

The role includes advising on Canadian, U.S. and Mexican law and international law, as well as supporting the CEC’s work under the Canada–U.S.–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) and the Environmental Cooperation Agreement.

🌎 Key requirements include:
• Law degree and membership in the bar of a CUSMA Party
• Citizenship in Canada, the United States or Mexico
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Knowledge of French is considered an asset

This is a particularly exciting opportunity for bilingual legal professionals interested in international, environmental and public law.

The CHBA AGM will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual attendance options. The virtual meeting link will be sent to CHBA members in good standing, closer to the AGM date. If you are unable to attend, please submit your proxy votes!

This year, CHBA will also hold elections for its 2026–2027 Board of Directors, with three (3) Board positions available. Please note: Board nominations from the floor will be accepted during the AGM. However, any nominees will be running against candidates who may have already received votes through submitted proxy ballots. Each candidate will have up to 3 minutes to introduce themselves during the AGM.
