According to the Children’s Law Reform Act and the Divorce Act, if one person with decision making responsibility and parenting time with the child wishes to change the residence of the child, notice must be given to the other person(s) also having decision making responsibility and parenting time. There are some exceptions as to this notice requirement. All decisions by the court in such matters revolve around the prime consideration of best interest of the child.
