More CEC candidates received invitations in the new Express Entry draw
On May 27, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry draw for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. IRCC issued 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITA) in this draw. In round #417, the cut-off score was 518 points, four points more than it was in the previous CEC-targeted draw, and the highest for the category in 2026. The tie-breaking rule for this round was April 30, 2026, at 03:16:01 UTC. As of May 24, 2026, 238,847 profiles were registered in the Express Entry pool. So far in 2026, the Government of Canada has issued 75,341 invitations under 29 Express Entry draws.

Statistics Canada reports an increase in international visitors entering Canada in March 2026
Statistics Canada has released new travel data for March 2026, showing an increase in international visitors. The total number of non-resident travellers entering Canada exceeded 1.6 million, marking a 4.7 percent increase over last year. Trips to Canada by United States residents rose by 4.4 percent to reach 1.3 million arrivals. Most American visitors travelled by automobile, and over half of those drove across the border for same-day trips. Overseas resident arrivals also increased by 5.6 percent, driven heavily by a surge in travellers from Europe. The United Kingdom, Mexico, and India remained the top three source countries for these overseas visitors.

On May 6, 2026, Alberta issued 832 invitations through the Alberta Opportunity Stream with a minimum score of 54. Additionally, Alberta invited 207 Express Entry candidates through targeted pathways. On May 7, 2026, the province invited 146 candidates under the Accelerated Tech Pathway with a minimum score of 57. Alberta released the results of the latest AAIP draws
Alberta released the results of the recent Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) immigration draws. On April 15, the province invited 50 healthcare workers under the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors pathway. The April 16 draw invited 37 candidates under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – non-Express Entry stream, while the April 23 draw invited 10 candidates under the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway. Additionally, the province invited 98 candidates under the Tourism and Hospitality Stream. So far, Alberta has invited 4,811 candidates through the AAIP streams in 2026.
