🚔 Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Charges
Officers stopped a vehicle after noticing erratic driving. A search under the Cannabis Control Act uncovered a cannabis v**e in the centre console, an open beer can under the passenger seat, and an open bottle of whiskey in the back.

The driver, a G1 licence holder was operating the vehicle without a required accompanying driver and blew above the mandatory zero‑alcohol limit for novice drivers.

As a result, the driver was charged with:
G1 driver no accompanying driver
Novice driver BAC above zero
Alcohol and cannabis readily available
The driver’s licence was also suspended for 7 days.

⚠️ Safety Reminder:
Impaired driving, whether by alcohol, drugs, or both it puts everyone on the road at risk. If you’re a G1 or novice driver, the rules are even stricter for a reason. Always drive sober, stay focused, and keep our roads safe

Heat can kill in minutes.

As temperatures rise across Ontario, the OPP is reminding the public of the life-threatening dangers of leaving children and pets unattended in parked vehicles.

Even on a mild day, temperatures inside a vehicle can rise rapidly, putting occupants at serious risk of heatstroke, brain injury, or death. In as little as 10 minutes, the interior of a vehicle can become 20 degrees hotter than the outside temperature, even with the windows slightly open. Children and pets are especially vulnerable because their bodies do not regulate heat as effectively.

Prevention is simple. Never leave children or pets alone in a vehicle, even for a moment.

If you see a child or pet alone in a hot vehicle, call 911 immediately. Your quick action could save a life.
~
