PLANNING TO APPLY FOR YOUR POST-GRADUATE WORK PERMIT IN CANADA?

Be very careful. You may have a situation where you may be too late to be eligible to reapply or update for your post-graduate work permit application for a small but serious mistake.

Remember - your PGWP is a one-time opportunity. You must apply within 180 days of your educational institute issuing your final marks or completion letter.

You may miss the boat if your application gets refused after that 180-day window; you may not be able to resubmit the application again.

Here’s where many students can go wrong:
✅ Missing documents like your final transcript or completion letter.
✅ Not maintaining a valid status when applying.
✅ And most importantly — not including their language test results!

Yes — as of recently, a language test like IELTS or CELPIP is now mandatory for all PGWP applications. If you skip it, your application will be refused.

We’re licensed immigration consultants, and we can handle your PGWP application professionally to make sure it’s done right the first time.

🚨 Significant Changes to Canada’s TFW Program — Employers, Don’t Get Caught Off Guard!
Employers need to be aware of the important updates to Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program —or TFWP, especially after September 2024, that could impact hiring decisions and business operations.

This program is a stringent process in place to ensure that Canadian workers are always prioritized first.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. High-Wage LMIA can only be submitted at or above the provincial or territorial wage threshold, and this was increased by 20% in November 2024
2. Low-Wage LMIA with CAP cannot be submitted in Census Metropolitan Areas (CMA areas) where the employment rate is above 6% and those CMA areas that have been included in the updated unemployment table published periodically.

So, what does this mean for you as an employer?

First and foremost, you need to be sure that hiring a foreign worker is absolutely necessary, and you were not able to find a Canadian Citizen or PR for that job.

Before applying for any LMIA, it’s essential to ensure that you meet the requirements and eligibility criteria.

And make sure you remain compliant to avoid any future headaches for your business.

Getting the right guidance is essential to avoid delays or complications.

Stay informed. Stay compliant. And hire smart.

Tag an HR manager who needs to know this.
