Next week, James Lockyer and Simon Kim will be arguing an appeal before the Nunavut Court of Appeal — a first for both Mr. Lockyer and our office. Meanwhile, on Thursday, May 14, Jeffery Couse will be appearing before the Supreme Court of Canada in a case in which Craig Zeeh acted as trial counsel and successfully secured the exclusion of the evidence at first instance.

In the London Superior Court of Justice, our client’s murder charge, previously sent back for a new trial, was stayed by the Crown today. James Lockyer and Jessica Zita represented her at the Ontario Court of Appeal, which earlier this year found that the trial judge erred in instructing the jury on the limited probative value of the after-the-fact conduct and on how her police statement could be used in assessing reasonable doubt.
