Ontario is shutting down ALL 9 existing OINP streams on May 30, 2026.
Not paused. Not adjusted. Completely revoked.

That means streams like:

• Masters Graduate
• PhD Graduate
• Human Capital Priorities
• International Student Stream
• Skilled Trades
• Entrepreneur

…will no longer legally exist after May 30.

Here’s what makes this serious:

A lot of applicants are sitting in the EOI pool waiting for a “better draw.”

But Ontario has NOT confirmed whether existing profiles will carry forward into the new system.

So some people may be waiting themselves out of eligibility.

And the new system?
It’s becoming far more targeted.

Ontario is moving toward a labour market focused model where invitations may prioritize:

• Healthcare workers
• Skilled trades
• Specific occupations
• French speakers
• Applicants willing to settle outside the GTA
• TEER based job categories

This is a huge mindset shift.

.. and some applicants finally got good news.

After months of delays and uncertainty, Canada has reduced processing times for several applications filed from India and Pakistan.

1. Study permit processing for applicants from Pakistan dropped from 11 weeks to 7 weeks
