BREAKING NEWS…

The Bank of Canada raised its benchmark interest rate to 0.5 per cent on Wednesday, a move that's expected to be the first of a series of small rate hikes this year in an attempt to tame inflation that has risen to its highest point in decades.

The Bank of Canada cut its key interest rate to the emergency level of 0.25 per cent in March 2020 in an effort to help the economy weather the economic shock of the pandemic.

It's the first time the bank has raised its rate since 2018. The Bank of Canada's rate affects the rates that Canadian consumers get on things like mortgages, lines of credit and savings accounts at their own banks.

While the bank has been telegraphing its plans to raise its rate to fight inflation for a while now, the bank acknowledged in its announcement Wednesday that inflation is heating up even faster than anticipated.

The reason for neighbourhood specific Annual Reports and their value:
➡️ Looking at overall statistics of the Toronto market would contain too many different types of real estate data all mixed together which would not give you reliable information ti apply to your interests. For example, the condo market in Liberty Village increases in value at a different rate than neighbouring King St. West condos, and are definitely affected differently than High Park detached homes, or Leslieville semi’s. Understanding data with a focused analysis is one of my specialties at Core Assets Real Estate (C.A.R.E.).
