Looking for New Healthcare Opportunities in Australia?

The NSW Health Deployment Program offers healthcare professionals an opportunity to take their skills beyond their usual workplace and support hospitals and health services across rural and remote NSW.

Designed for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, the program offers:

• Deployments of up to 13 weeks through the CRU stream.
• Travel, accommodation and additional benefits.
• Opportunities for professional growth, new skills and connections.
• A chance to explore different parts of NSW.

There are two ways to participate:

• Central Resource Unit (CRU): Open to eligible internal and external applicants seeking casual deployment opportunities.

• Deployment EOI: For existing NSW Health employees who want to support services during emergencies and periods of increased demand.

Whether you're looking for a new work experience or want to contribute your skills when healthcare services need extra support, there's a pathway worth exploring.

🇦🇺 Student Visa Hopping in Australia: What’s Changed and Why It Matters

Australia is tightening restrictions on Student visa applications and course changes, making it harder to use repeated visa changes as a way to extend your stay.

If you’re planning to study further in Australia, understanding the current rules is essential. Onshore applications, course progression and transfer requirements can all affect your next steps.

The good news? Australia hasn’t closed its doors to genuine students. However, your course choices and visa pathway need careful planning.

Planning your next move? Get professional migration advice before changing your course or applying for another visa.

From Student Visa to Partner Visa Grant

A young couple approached KnN Migration Advisors for assistance with their Partner Visa. With Sai already in Australia on student visa, they were looking for a clear pathway and an earlier grant.

We guided them through the process, ensuring their application was supported by strong documentation and compelling relationship evidence.

The application was lodged on 5 April 2025 and, 18 months later, their Partner Visa was successfully granted on 6 October 2026.

A wonderful outcome for a lovely couple and a reminder that strong preparation and evidence can make a real difference.

NSW Subclass 190: Is Your EOI Ready for the First Invitation Round?

With NSW’s 2026–27 nomination program now open, this is a good time to review your migration strategy rather than simply wait for an invitation.

Your occupation, eligibility and the details in your Expression of Interest (EOI) all matter. An outdated EOI or information that does not accurately reflect your circumstances could affect your nomination prospects.

NSW has also updated its Skills List, with a focus on occupations aligned with critical skill areas experiencing significant demand. If you’re considering NSW nomination, check how your occupation aligns with the current requirements and ensure your EOI is accurate and up to date before the anticipated first invitation round.

Need guidance on your NSW nomination options? Speak with a MARA Registered Migration Agent to review your circumstances and understand the next steps.

Victoria’s 2026–27 Skilled Visa Nomination Program: What You Need to Know

Victoria uses the Victorian Points Test to rank Registrations of Interest for Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 state nomination.

From age and English proficiency to work experience, qualifications and earnings, several factors contribute to your VPT score. Victoria also considers occupations in priority industries, including healthcare, social assistance, education and construction.

Remember, there is no fixed pass mark, and a particular VPT score does not guarantee an invitation.

Planning to apply for Victorian nomination? Understand the selection factors and assess your profile before submitting your ROI.

When an employer is preparing a 186 nomination, looking only at the minimum income threshold is not enough.

For nominations lodged in 2026–27, the Core Skills Income Threshold is $79,423. However, the employer also needs to consider the Annual Market Salary Rate (AMSR) for the nominated position. The relevant salary requirements need to be satisfied as part of the nomination.

For employers, this means the proposed salary should be assessed against the applicable market salary requirements before the nomination is submitted. For employees, it's important to understand that simply being offered a salary above the published threshold does not, by itself, establish that the salary requirement has been met.

The right question isn't just “Is the salary above the threshold?” It's “Does the proposed salary meet the requirements for this particular position?”

Considering a 186 nomination? Get the position and salary requirements reviewed before lodging.
