In South Australia, we have had a complete overhaul of the Succession Act 2023. This came into effect on the 1st January 2025 and although it simplifies succession law, it has impacted wills, probate, administration, intestacy, and family provision claims. The new laws also expand the criteria under which step-children can make inheritance claims.

Therefore, it is a good time to review your Will. Please contact me on 0418 858 399 to make an appointment, as your current Will may need updating to correspond with the new rules and laws.

We advise that a new Advanced Care Directive Form has come into effect from the 1 March 2024. The Minister for Health and Wellbeing recommends you revise your advance care directive every two years. The document permits the use of digital signature for the Substitute Decision Makers and interpreter sections of the form, however the prescribed signing order remains the same. If you have any questions regarding this document please message or email us.
