Under South Australia's Succession Act 2023, access to a deceased person's Will is no longer limited to executors and beneficiaries. A broad range of eligible people may now be entitled to inspect or obtain a copy of the Will, including certain family members and individuals named in previous Wills.

These changes have significant implications for estate planning and for professionals who hold Will documents on behalf of clients. If you would like to discuss how we can help you to secure the best outcomes for your clients, please speak to our Wills and Estates team by calling (08) 8223 7600.
